This course is essential for anyone that cares for children. It is perfect for first time parents as well as for the more experienced parent. It is also the minimum first aid requirement for child care providers in British Columbia as recognized by the British Columbia Provincial Child Care Facilities Licensing Board.
You will learn with confidence the following skills:

- how to prevent injuries
- how to treat a choking child or infant
- how to perform CPR on a child or infant
- how to use the automated external defibrillator on a child in cardiac arrest
- how to provide first aid for bleeding
- how to provide first aid for head or spinal injuries
- how to provide first aid for fractures
- what to do during sudden medical conditions
- what to do in case of a poisoning
Included in this course is the Red Cross Child Care First Aid manual as well as a wall certificate or wallet certificate or both. The certification lasts for 3 years.
